The 22@Barcelona project fills the city's need to recover both economic and social dynamism in the old industrial areas of Poblenou and to create a diverse and compact environment where productive spaces coexist with research, training and tech transfer centers, as well as subsidized housing, facilities and green areas that improve the quality of work and life in the neighborhood.
22@Barcelona provides a new, high quality, diverse, ecologically efficient and economically strong urban model that strikes a balance between production and neighborhood life.

A good example is the building from Enric Ruiz Geli it reflects the newest parts of crating modern and intelligent buildings.
It is a low energy building and with the different new developments, like the facade, or the solar panels on the roof, the building is saving more than 75 % of energy!

The nice part of that district is the different between the buildings an one side you have technology buildings and on the other side you have renovated buildings, or better fabrics, which are used for living or working.

Vienna:
The building plan of the Danube City is based on a broad mix of uses, which provides an office and business use of a maximum of 70 percent, a residential use by about 20 percent, and cultural and leisure facilities of around 10 percent.
Around 7,500 people currently live and work in this new "city within a city". In the overall expansion, which is expected to be completed in 2012, it will be up to 15,000. International companies such as IBM, sanofi-aventis and Strabag SE are also located in the Danube City, as well-known high tech companies that have settled with their employees and scientific institutions in Vienna's first science and technology park, the Tech Gate Vienna.
In addition to the facilities already mentioned in the Danube River City shopping markets, restaurants, cafes, doctors' offices, a school and a church. Furthermore, have settled some event locations. The area borders on the Danube island recreational areas, Danube Park and Old Danube. The Danube City has two direct connections to the motorway network, and the Vienna International Airport is only about 20 minutes.
